JOE SPIVEY

Joe Spivey, native of Shreveport, Louisiana, has been playing fiddle since he was 16, and was influenced primarily by the great Chubby Wise and Tommy Jackson.  Spivey moved on to Nashville in 1986 and joined John Anderson’s band in July of that year and continues to tour with him.  As a studio musician, he has recorded with Anderson, Merle Haggard, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Kris Kristofferson, Joan Baez, Hank Williams Jr., Clay Walker and many others.  Joe currently performs with the famous western swing band, The Time Jumpers and was inducted into The National Fiddler Hall of Fame in 2017.  Matt met Joe in 2016 at a Time Jumpers performance show in Nashville.
